Be Reconciled to God

2 Corinthians 5:12-21
12 For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart. 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

We are new creatures in God. The workmanship of God. The stubborn heart is hostile toward God & hates Him. However, there's still reconciliation through Jesus Christ. God bids the sinner to lay aside his hatred and accept the salvation He offers. Jesus Christ was Sin; a sin offering so that we might be made the righteousness of God in him, might be justified freely by the grace of God through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. Have you truly been redeemed by the blood of the lamb? Many will say yes. But, in reality many have not. Many are stuck in the rut of their past because they haven't truly let go of it and given it to God. Holding onto things of the past will wreak havoc on your relationship with God. If we're to be new creatures in God we must lay aside ALL humanness and give it to God; let Him  handle it. Yes, it's tough! When we truly make the effort and build our relationship with God it becomes easier.

My bloggy friend Lynn did a great series on friends/relationships, [click on the labels/tags to see all posts related]. Several of the blogs I follow have the occasional post on friends &/or relationships. I really enjoy what God puts before me on this topic. We could all go a very long way to improve our relationships, with humans & God. Be blessed in God through His love for us. Praise God in this song in the video.

  2. Hi there Kim,

I love the scripture verses you shared.

I think that many times, in our ignorance we don't even realize we are holding on to the past. But God is faithful and He shows us and heals us when the time is right.

    Blessings to you!
