Psalm 97 - [20100622]

Psalm 97

1 The Lord reigns;
Let the earth rejoice;
Let the multitude of isles be glad!
Who rejoices with me here? Praise be to God... even the multitude of Isles is glad.

2
 Clouds and darkness surround Him;
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3 A fire goes before Him,
And burns up His enemies round about.
Um... I choose not to be His enemy. Do you?

4 His lightnings light the world;
The earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples see His glory.
Um... wow... even the mountains melt at His presence. That being said; I'm in awe... dumbstruck if you. That's simply humble submission in reverence to The Almighty God. I melt in Your presence Father God. I challenge my readers to have this kind of fear for the LORD.

7 Let all be put to shame who serve carved images,
Who boast of idols.
Worship Him, all you gods.
Calling all gods... Hear ye, hear ye.. Worship Him, ALL you gods.

8 Zion hears and is glad,
And the daughters of Judah rejoice
Because of Your judgments, O Lord.
9 For You, Lord, are most high above all the earth;
You are exalted far above all gods.
Nuf said!!

10 You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous,
And gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
Rejoice! Again, I say rejoice!

Prayer: Dear Father God, LORD Jesus, I lift up a hurting World to You. I pray that they will see Your almighty power and awesomeness and prostrate fall before YOU and rejoice in YOU. In Jesus' name, amen.

  1. Truly, I don't think we have a clue what it's going to be like when we come face to face with our Creator...

    It will be an awesome moment of indescribable joy and holy fear and trembling! There have been a few moments in my life when I've tasted a portion of that kind of glory and was aware of the splendor of my King. It didn't last long... I don't think my heart could have taken it.

    There is coming a day, though, when faith finds sight and every knee will bow, every tongue will shout...

    Jesus is the Lord!
