Today's high temp where I live: 44°F with a low of 33°F. Right this minute as I type it's 30°F. The forecast says it'll be partly sunny today. We had a bit of sun yesterday too. However, the weekend is going to be another story. It's going to be a very blustery Winter weekend. Stay warm and dry!

Trust [20120111]

Yesterday I posted my word/life scripture for 2012. Today I'd like to expand on it a little bit.

The definition of my word:
Trust
noun
Reliance on the integrity strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.
verb
To have trust or confidence in; rely or depend on.

It's hard to trust people when one has been mistreated and lied to. Especially when one has been betrayed.

There is ONE who we can fully trust. That ONE is Yahweh/Yeshua.

Just as scripture says:

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in ADONAI with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding.
Nahum 1:7: The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.
Isaiah 26:4: Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.

When we rely on our own understanding we get into strife. The adversary is cunning and sly. We must learn to know that without GOD we're completely and utterly lost! Trust HIM today and let HIM be your guide in life.

2012 Life Scriptures

Over the past two years I've had to learn to trust all over again. It's not been an easy road. I still have a ways to go. Two verses spoke very clearly to me about trust. Those verses are:

Isaiah 26:4
Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who trust in the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

I will focus on my trust in the LORD Yahweh. It will help my be strong in HIM and build my trust in relationships.

Just playing around with some of the Google Plus badges. I really like this one a lot. It's amazing all the fun stuff that keeps popping up like this g+ License.
On this one, as you can see on the image below, they pull your introduction section off your Google Plus profile. At the bottom you see "license no:" That's simply the i.d. number assigned to your profile in the url address of your profile.
i.e.: My profile url is: https://plus.google.com/u/0/109631753156353457791
You can click the link. It'll take you to my Google Plus profile.
The g+ License is simply an image created with your info on it. If I want a different image/avatar, I will need to change that in my profile edit options, along with any of the other data. The License page that you use to create it offers you to right click and save image to your hard drive. Once you do that you can upload the image and use it all over the web.

I do most of my posts on Google Plus these days. I provide, here in this blog, a link to the original post. Google Plus is an awesome way for your posts to get noticed. Psalm 126 A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.
¹ When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem,
      it was like a dream!
² We were filled with laughter,
      and we sang for joy.
   And the other nations said,
      “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”
³ Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us!
      What joy!

What does it mean? Dream.

I'll tell you.
Dream: to imagine as if in a dream; fancy; suppose.

Fancy: a mental image or conception.

Suppose: to assume (something) is true.

Dreaming can be a joyous moment. We hear talk all around us about dreams/dreaming. There's people who even interpret dreams. In God's word of the OT we read in Daniel about this. It's prophecy. We read in other books of the Bible, Ezekiel, for one, how dreams/visions are given from God. Some place great value on dreams. They believe dreams hold truth to reality.

There's another type of dream. Ideas and concepts people hold. Things people want to accomplish in their lives. Some call the dream a wish list or even a bucket list. They are desires people hold to achieve.

Along life's road I feel I've lost my "Dream". I've held a couple grandiose dreams. I hear people speak about it. One such person is: Lisa Whittle, author. The link is to her latest vlog post about her dream.

Dreams can be a very good thing as long as their focus is to honor and glorify God. I suppose my life to be a dream achieved to honor and glorify God. I don't desire a materialistic life. I'm content with what God supplies me.

However, we can become complacent in our lifestyle. Just getting by. "How does this honor and glorify God?", I ask myself. I ask you also. In the scripture at the beginning in Psalm 126 it speaks of joy, laughter and amazing things.

Sitting back and re-evaluating my life I'm called to be real with myself. At this moment nothing amazing is happening to honor and glorify God. What about you? Are you in denial of your dream to honor and glorify God?

Prayer: Dear Father God in Heaven, I lift up all of Your complacent children and seek Your uplifting in our lives right now. Give us the joy, laughter and amazing thing to honor and glorify You. I pray Father God that You use each of us in a mighty way so that there's no mistake that it's YOU who is in control. I thank You in advance for hearing and answering my prayer. In The Name of Yeshua, The Messiah, amen.

Illusions of grandeur

Definition for disillusionment:
* disenchantment: freeing from false belief or illusions

In this [link], Oswald Chambers talks about disillusionment. I agree fully. I believe we, as a human race, have created our own preferences for our lives. Preconceived notions that work for our own purpose. Manipulation. Then we project our preferences onto the people in our lives. If those people don't meet our ideals then we judge them harshly. That, my friends, is self-centeredness.

Where do we get off pushing our selfishness onto the World? This World was created for God's purpose, having personal relationships with each human being. A relationship so personal that we whole heartedly adore and love HIM. To the point of "can't live without Him". Yet, we self focus. Have pity parties when we don't get out way. We believe everyone is wrong and we're totally right.

News Flash: To burst all the bubbles... We're all wrong and not a one is good. God's word tells us this. [John 2:24-25 But Jesus didn't trust them, because he knew what people were really like. No one needed to tell him about human nature. -- Romans 3:10 As the Scriptures say, "No one is good -- not even one. -- Romans 3:12b No one does good, not even one."]

Without God and His gift of salvation through Christ will we make the cut. Do you live in disillusionment or illusions of grandeur? If we don't surrender to His calling we're in for a rude awakening on Judgment Day!

Prayer: Dear Father God, Yahweh, I lift up my selfishness to You. I ask that You make it very clear to me that I need to refocus on You, not myself. I pray that I will be disillusioned so that I will be free of false belief and only believe in Your truth. I thank You in advance for hearing and answering my prayer, In the name of the Messiah, Yeshua, Adonai, Amen!

Life [as it for me]

For the past year Google has been creating and running Google Plus [g+]. For the past month or so they released it in beta for all to try out. I heard about it on an Internet tech talk show called: TWiT TV with Leo Leporte. I immediately added my name to the list for an invite to join. So, I waited.

One day, the following week, I got an invite from one of my friends. I quickly accepted and started using Google Plus. My stream quickly filled up with posts of tips and tricks on how to manage g+. The plugin and extension suggestions flowed for Google Chrome browser and not so many for Firefox. I tested one in Firefox. I ended up deleting the
facebook one. I still have the twitter one. However, after all the hoopla about the Chrome browser I decided to install it, once again. I had installed it last year and tried it and didn't like it. So, I uninstalled it and continued to use Firefox. So, now, I'm actually using both browsers. Firefox for all my media, i.e. online movies/tv, etc and Chrome for everything else. I installed two extensions on Chrome that make it a little easier to use g+.
There's social media wars now. FB & g+ are the most battled. FB is blocking g+. But not the other way round. FB is running scared that g+ is going to make them obsolete. Speaking of obsolete. Many are saying that g+ will make twitter obsolete. I very rarely even check my twitter anymore. I made the announcement on my FB that I was slowly going to transition completely over to g+. So, I check FB but I don't post much now. I've invited as many as I could to use g+. Some have made profiles. Some have ignored my invites. They'll eventually make their way to g+.

Google Plus is a more powerful tool in the social media world. The posts are more intelligent and compelling to read. It seems as though g+ has it's own version of controlling the unwanted type of posts that flood the walls of facebook. My observation of is that fb, twitter, etc are like watching Jerry Springer. Google Plus is like watching 20/20 or Dateline. Not everyone cares if someone is going to go lay down for a nap or go to the dr for a runny nose or... going to go shower for the day and make out meal menus. It's the TMI factor. I'm not such an out going person that I want to post my dr's visits, nap time, etc. As one of my online friends posted... You're not that important.

I've connected with some great photographers, techies, authors and great people in general using g+. I've learned some interesting and great stuff.

My blog friend over at Peace for the journey, Elaine, wrote about an experience she had with music over the course of the past year. She shared the music video below. I simply came undone when reading her post and listening to the song. The song touched my soul today. It's something I needed. Many of you know about my accident last year and then corrective surgery on my knee. Something inside me died with that accident. I've been struggling a lot over this past year. Prayer: Dear Father God, I come to You on my face at Your feet. I lift up people hurting, spiritually, physically, mentally and hand them to You, ADONAI, El Shaddai. Comfort them. I claim Your promises in in Your Word that tell us You will never leave us nor forsake us and that You love and comfort us. Thank You and I love and praise YOU, GOD. Tempted?

1 Corinthians 10:13
But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it.
We're all tempted. It's human nature. Temptation is no respecter of persons. It strikes us all.

However, I've seen this scripture (1 Cor. 10:13) misused and misinterpreted. Many people have used it for the basis of this statement:
God will never give you more than you can handle.
As you read 1 Cor. 10:13, above, you can see it says nothing of the kind. This is one example of misinterpretation of scriptures. It's a pretty bad one at that, because, it's misleading people as to God's nature and character. As humans we don't like it when people misrepresent who we are to each other. In fact, I've seen people get into some pretty heavy arguments and fights over it. With that in mind... wouldn't you agree that God has a right to be upset that people are misrepresenting Him? I've made the mistake in the past. Once I was corrected, however, I repented and sought God's forgiveness. Shouldn't you too?

Instead of accepting everything that comes from "mans'" mouth, we should seek wisdom from God and allow the Holy Spirit within us to guide us in right thinking and actions. It's OK to seek mans' ideas to compare one with the other to see which one fits with God and HIS word. We should never accept what one person says as truth without investigating it ourselves. I believe that is one major reason why so many people are at odds. Everyone wants to be the "one" to share "the truth" and be right about it. When, in fact, man is fallible. We're imperfect. Only with God to guide us can we show any kind of truth or rightness.

So, instead of totally trusting things that come from mans' mouth, seek God. If it doesn't fit with what God's word says, reject it. Find God's truth from the right source, God, in His word and in prayer. The Holy Spirit will never lead you astray.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for Your word and wisdom to guide us in the right path to You. Show us the right path and the truth. Please forgive me for any misinformation I might have been misguided with and that I may have given. In the name of Yeshua, The Messiah, amen.

I have much to be thankful for. I'll list five things this week:
God's grace and mercy HE continues to pour out over me and fill me.
The basic things in life: a home, food, water, clothing, transportation.
The wonderful mentors HE's placed in my life via "Online". One mentor has encouraged me to begin writing my first book. Praise God I have just over 1200 words so far. That might not seem like much. But, it's a lot coming from someone who's never written a book before. Oh, I've written blog posts and the like. But, they're usually one a page or two, aren't they?
A Soul Mate to share my life with in this Earthly life.
Great friends and family.
Bonus one: That none of our belongings or bodies were involved in a car smashing into our garage door late in the night. It's been an interesting morning here to say the least.

52 Weeks-52 Letters

As I perused my blog friends posts today I came across my friend Sara's blog. She's the person I started my Project 365 photo blog from, last year. It was a failure on my part. I'm starting it again this year. I have my 1st week up. You can see the link to the right, scroll down some.

This year I'm going to add something new. Sara started it. She saw it on her friend's blog and decided to take on the challenge. I shall too.

We all love to receive letters in the mail. No, I'm not talking about email or facebook. I'm talking about the USPS mail box outside your house. Some have to walk to the end of the walkway to the sidewalk. Some simply step outside onto their porch. Some go all the way to the Post Office. Some stop at the entryway of their apartment property to the mailbox station, to pick up their mail. I do the last. Yes, we recently moved from a house to an apartment.

If you have my email address, and you'd like to receive a letter/postcard/card from me. Email me your postal address. I shall send you a letter.

I challenge each of you to hand write a letter to someone, anyone, many people over the next year. Don't just type it up on the computer and print it out. Hand written is much more personal. It lets the receiver feel special and that you care because you took time to actually write to them. That's going to be a challenge for me however. My handwriting is chicken scratch these days. As I spent my quiet time with Yahweh this morning I read this and that to get my focus.

I came across a website called "My One Word".

Each year a great deal of us followers of "The Messiah, Yeshua", post our Life Verse(s)/Scripture for the year and focus on it for inspiration.

This year I'm going to use the My One Word plan. My life scripture is from My One Word for this year, focus.

I tend to lose sight of the things of Yahweh and need to be reminded. I don't know about you, but, I need a nudge now and again to remind me to focus. I get distracted by all the Worldly goings on. That's how the adversary would like it. When we stay focused and stay in The Word it's harder for the adversary to divert our attentions away.

I'm so thankful for such a loving, caring, compassionate, all consuming Father who seeks me. In seeking me, I shall make myself to be found by HIM so that I might delight in HIM and worship HIM.

Today, waiting in my inbox for me, was the below devotion. Click the link and read it. It is short. Read this verse: 2 Cor 3.18. It's the verse offered in his devotion. He only provides a piece of it. I say read the entire thing.

Now, put yourself there. Really there! Allow God/Holy Spirit/Jesus to wash over you and through you. Feel HIS presence.

I sit in awe of God, The Father. He takes something as broken as me and transforms me into something so beautiful for HIS purpose. What do I do? I take control of me and muck everything up with all life's baggage. We all do it.

HE still has patience with us. HE is still there by our side waiting for us to turn to HIM and surrender our all to HIM.

It is time! Look, as the scripture says: "with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord", surrender our ALL to HIM and allow HIM to transform us in HIS glory. Allow HIS presence in.

Just like the devotion mentions, life isn't without trials. It helps to build character. We don't have to lose our personality. His devotion explains it so well.

Are you willing? Let HIM in.

I had a heavy heart this week over something that was ripping and tearing at me. Like a wild dog tearing the flesh of its prey. Last night, the burden was lifted away. The Holy Spirit comforted me. I am now at peace knowing that God is working things out in me and with those around me. I finally let HIM ALL in last night. It all became clear to me that God is always there to take us through our trials and build our character moment by moment to be more Christ-Like. If only, we let HIM ALL in.

Are you willing? Let HIM in.
Prayer: Dear Father God, LORD Jesus, I lift up heavy hearts to YOU right now. I pray LORD, that people who are holding out will give into YOU and allow YOU in. I pray that their burdens will be lifted so they can see with unveiled face into the glory of GOD and know that YOU will meet their needs and build their character transforming them to be more Christ-Like. I praise YOU, LORD. I thank YOU, LORD. In Jesus' name, amen.

I pray that their hearts would be softened to YOUR calling and that they would accept YOUR true salvation gift and accept Jesus into their hearts and minds. Your love is so deep that not one is left unloved. I adore YOU Father God with all I am and I pray that everyone else will too. I pray that people's needs are met in more ways than one. A Baby Changes Everything

Isaiah 9:6 proclaims
      For a child is born to us,
      a son is given to us.
   The government will rest on his shoulders.
      And he will be called:
   Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
      Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

And Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Luke 2:11-14 exclaims: 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
       14 “ Glory to God in the highest,
      And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

This babe... lying so innocently, wrapped up in strips of cloth to the anyone on the street looks like any other baby. However, He wasn't just any baby. The bright star that let to HIM, that the shepherds followed, and the wise men sought after Him meant something special.

God knew from the beginning when He created humans we were going to be needing a Savior. It was decided that God's own son, Jesus, would take on the task. It's a tall order. Jesus willingly gave Himself for us.

In order to do this He had to become human. God found favor in Mary. She was chosen to be the virgin mother of Jesus.

I've seen this posted by many people in various social network websites and sent to me in email:
Greatest man in history, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.
God wants a personal relationship with each of us. Jesus' birth, crucifixion and resurrection makes it possible. HIS blood spilled washes us white as snow. The Holy Spirit is given as a comforter and guide to dwell within our hearts. Listen to Him. He is our comforter. No matter how bad, ugly or horrific things in life can be; they'll never hold a candle to what Jesus went through for us. There will never be another like Jesus.

What will you do with Jesus?

Let the presence of GOD wash over and soak in you as He blesses you this Christmas and everyday.

What an amazing creation of God's. God's word says in:
Genesis 1: 14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 2:4 This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.
John 1:3: All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Without God we wouldn't be. I so love creation. God is in it and it gives us pleasure. So be it!

This morning a friend posted this video on facebook. As I watched it a memory popped up in my head... of a blog post I read a while back. I can not remember who posted it. It basically said that God is there. It struck me... hard.

No matter the situation or the place. HE **is** there. By my side, your side; everyone's side.

Let HIM into your heart & HIS love fill you to overflowing.

There are times in my life where I need to climb up into my Father's lap and curl up. Simply feel HIS warm hug and caress of love and care comforting me through life's trials. HE is there.

Struggles

Through God's prompting I'm here today to share my struggles over the past several months. It's been nearly six months since my accident.

I was on some pretty heavy pain medication. It has rendered my brain into what feels like mush. It's been a while sense I've had pain meds. However, the chemicals linger in the body long after the use has stopped.

After reading my friend Elaine's blog, Peace for the Journey, it seems as though God was speaking directly to me.

The words just aren't there. If they are, they're not getting through. A dry spell some call it, or writer's block. Some say, "It will come". I feel like I'm letting my readers down in some way. Please know that God is still working in my life. In fact, HE's really working at the moment. It feels as though HE's chipping away at a wall that's been left from some past stuff. I didn't realize it was still there. Eventually, it'll be like the Walls of Jericho. It'll come tumbling down.

Until such time as the words come back, I'm on a blog break, except for my new posts starting Saturday. I will begin my Christmas Carol Video Tour. Watch for Saturday's post. Each Saturday up to Christmas I will post a new video of a Christmas Carol. On Christmas day I'll post two videos.

My prayer is that God's blessings will burst forth to everyone and that the message of Jesus will reach each and every one. Praise the LORD!

Here we are. The last day of September. Autumn is well on its way. Some are reporting that it's still *hot* in their area. Some are reporting the rains have started. I can claim the rains. It has been unusually warm for us this time of year. However, it has not been hot like in some areas. I for one love Autumn. It's my most favorite season out of all.

Well, my thankfuls. I've had a very busy Summer. In part, due to my massage work in the beginning of Summer. Then, in August, I had a motorcycle accident and was injured. I had to have surgery two weeks ago to correct the knee injury resulting from accident. As some Australians would say, I've been through the wars. I'm now in post surgery recovery. I'm so very thankful it all went very well in surgery and also with my post surgery follow up with the Dr.

I'm most thankful for all the blessings God bestows on me and my husband. He never ceases to amaze me with His grace and mercy.

I know this might sound strange, but, I'm thankful that the bank is taking our house back finally and that God has already provided a place for us to live with our BIG dog, Misa.

Walk the walk

Acts 19:13-20
¹³ A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” ¹⁴ Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. ¹⁵ But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” ¹⁶ Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.

¹⁷ The story of what happened spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored. ¹⁸ Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. ¹⁹ A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. ²⁰ So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.

Well now! There's some impersonators walking around out there. Are you an impersonator? An impostor? A poser as some say.

The enemy knows the difference. God's word above shows proof in verse 15. The enemy will chew up each of us posers and spit us out anytime one confronts him. It will take more than a poser to knock the enemy down.

Why do we hide behind the impostor mask? God knows our hearts and minds. He can see right through us just like the enemy can. We're not fooling anyone.

Pretending to be a Christ follower won't get anyone into Heaven.

If you wants to make it to Heaven for eternity you're going to have to stop impersonating and become the real deal. Walk the walk. Don't just talk the talk.

You can follow God's Simple Plan of Salvation to make it right and use the name of Jesus to call out evil spirits for real. Just click above and follow the link. Read through and talk it over with God. He'll make it all right. He loves each of us and wishes that none should perish.

Matthew 18:14

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father God, I lift up the impostors to You and seek that they will be made right with You in Jesus name. Thank You Father God for showing a clear and truthful path to YOU. I pray that each one who comes here today seeking refuge in You that they find it. I pray for their salvation through the bought blood of Jesus. In Jesus' name, amen.

Christian, Jesus Follower, please share Jesus & His salvation gift with those around you. The worse thing they will tell you is they don't want to hear it. Try anyway! Don't shove salvation down their throat. Simply show them compassion and ask them if they know and believe in The Savior, Jesus. Follow their lead. Pray about it. Allow the Holy Spirit's calling on you.

Thank You Father God for Your gift of salvation through Jesus. I pray that we as Your children will step up to the plate and share Jesus and His gift of salvation. I personally thank You for being my Sovereign Almighty God who carries me through the tough times. In Jesus' name, amen.

What the Heck?

After an accident in my life I was left undone! I found myself questioning what the heck was happening. I found this scripture in God's word comforting:
Psalm 63:
¹ O God, You are my God;
         Early will I seek You;
         My soul thirsts for You;
         My flesh longs for You
         In a dry and thirsty land
         Where there is no water.
² So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
         To see Your power and Your glory.
³ Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
         My lips shall praise You.

Psalm 116:
⁶ The LORD preserves the simple;
         I was brought low, and He saved me.
⁷ Return to your rest, O my soul,
         For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.
⁸ For You have delivered my soul from death,
         My eyes from tears,
         And my feet from falling.
How could I question God's sovereignty? After speaking to my soul like that it all became clear to me that God uses everything in life for His purpose. My situation was no different. HE saved my life because He is using me for His purpose. To reach out to lost souls to bring them to Him.

Are you a lost soul seeking God or just seeking anything to understand and be loved? Reach for God's grace and mercy. He will not let you down. He is so mighty that nothing can get in His way. Surrender to HIM and allow Him to transform you like He has transformed me.

He loves each one no different than the next. He loves us all. Not some, but all. You won't be sorry you did. Your life will never be the same again. This isn't saying you will never hit tough times because I'm here to tell you that is not the case. God allows these tough times because He uses them to build our character and for His kingdom purpose. Even when we don't have a clue... God still uses us. It will be clear eventually. Whether in Heaven or on Earth. It's all for His glory! After all, it's not about us. It's fully about HIM. Our relationship with HIM. He wants each one of us to be His friend. We all like having friends, no? I know I do.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father God...I lift up my readers to YOU now. I pray that they will surrender their all to You and trust that You will take care of them. I pray that they will seek Your friendship and be comforted. I pray that it will become clear to them as you have shown me, what is going on in their lives. I know and trust Your love, grace and mercy Father. I pray they will too. I pray for the lost souls Father God in Jesus' name that those lost souls will seek and surrender to You. In Jesus' precious and holy name, amen.

I personally feel that we as a collective human race have lost something in our lives that has degraded our mentality and personalities. And, I believe that something is "respect". Because when you do not respect yourself or others we're going to be very selfish about what we want and don't care about anything or anyone else. God's word tells us in Matthew 5:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away. (Matthew 5:38-42, New King James Version)

Think about how it makes you feel when you're disrespected. It's a blow to one's self esteem. So, isn't it a smart thing to be respectful and possibly respect will be shown to us? Yea, I've shown my share of disrespect and I paid a dear price for it. I learned my lesson.

My prayer is that we'll all learn a lesson to respect others.

What a wonderful way to praise God and be an encouragement to others. Here's my prayer, petition and praise:

Prayer & Petition: Dear Heavenly Father God... I bring this to you because Jesus has shown us the way. I thank You for Jesus being my Savior. My prayer is for all the lost, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. There's so much out there Lord. I pray that in Your timing each one will come to You. I lift myself up to You Father seeking forgiveness for any selfishness and sins I've committed. I thank You in advance for hearing, acting on [loving me enough to clear my wrongs away] and showing me Your love. I seek healing of my physical injuries after my two wheeled accident Father. I trust and know You are in control of all this. Whatever the reason for this happening Lord, I commit it to You and leave it with You to handle and take care of. I love You Father God. In Jesus' name, amen.

Praise: My praise is that God spared my life on Thursday night after crashing my motorcycle and sustaining minimal injuries and the motorcycle with little damage. I pray this be an example to those who need it Father. Thank You. My other praises are that we have the freedom to worship God through Jesus salvation.

To get a grasp of this word: faithfulness, we need to see the definition. It's a lot. Please be patient.
faith·ful (fāth'fəl)
adj.
1. Adhering firmly and devotedly, as to a person, cause, or idea; loyal.
2. Engaging in sex only with one's spouse in a sexual relationship.
3. Having or full of faith.
4. Worthy of trust or belief; reliable.
5. Consistent with truth or actuality: a faithful reproduction of the portrait.
Today we'll focus on worthy of trust or belief; reliable. Everything ties into trusting and believing.

God's word says this:
Psalm 37
³ Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
How trusting of the Lord are you? If you can trust the Lord I believe one feeds on His faithfulness. If God can trust us then why wouldn't we trust Him? Trusting is believing. If we believe in the Lord then we trust Him.

Did you get that: Trusting is believing. If we believe in the Lord then we trust Him.

What am I trusting the Lord with? I should trust Him in all ways. He loves and cares for me. Therefore, I can trust Him, right? Some of you are shaking your heads at me right now. That's ok. Faith is serious business. Many people don't have much faith. God's word says we only need faith the size of a mustard seed.
Matthew 17
²⁰ So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Mustard seeds are about one-sixteenth of an inch in diameter. I read somewhere that they are smaller than poppy seeds. They're almost like a speck of dust small. That's all it takes. So, my unbelief and untrusting nature is holding me back.

Faith to me is trusting. For example: When I sit in a chair I have faith enough to trust that the chair will hold me up and not go crashing to the ground taking me down with it.

Another way to look at this is being reliable. A confident certainty. Reliable suggests consistent dependability of judgment, character, performance. Consistent dependability of character. Hmph.... will you look at that! Am I consistently dependable? No... I'm not. And neither are a lot of people. We are flaky undependable beings.

Well then... I better get my act together. What about you? Will you join me in this challenge and work on becoming a consistent dependable person in being reliable and trusting God being a trustworthy person for God? Standing firm and upright for God?

Are you good?

Well now, it's time to get back on track with the word list for the year using the fruit of the spirit. I missed all of the month of June. I will do my very best to catch us up to speed. You can find all the other posts in the word list tags, <--- just click.

The next word on the list is: 'goodness'. Let's take a look at the definition of goodness:
1. the state or quality of being good.
2. moral excellence; virtue.
3. kindly feeling; kindness; generosity.
4. excellence of quality: goodness of workmanship.
5. the best part of anything; essence; strength.
6. a euphemism for god: Thank goodness!
Everyone will say they have a measure of goodness in them. Even I did at some point. The problem with this train of thought is, being good will not get you into Heaven. God's words tells us in Romans 3:10-12:
¹⁰ As it is written:
      “There is none righteous, no, not one;
       ¹¹ There is none who understands;
      There is none who seeks after God.
       ¹² They have all turned aside;
      They have together become unprofitable;
      There is none who does good, no, not one.”

Without Jesus you will not get to Heaven. He is our salvation; our savior. Again, I ask the question, are you good enough? Have you repented of your sins and accepted Jesus as your Savior? If not, and you would like to, click here, and follow God's Simple Plan of Salvation. He wishes for none to perish! Without God, we will perish and be in hell for eternity. It's not a fun place. It would be a life of torment. I don't know about you, but, I would prefer not to be tormented. I was tormented here on Earth by the adversary for some time. I still struggle with it. However, because I have the Holy Spirit, the adversary has already lost the battle. Send him on his way and let God work in your life and know that you will be in Heaven with Him some day.

Let's pray: Dear Father God, thank You for Your message and for sending Jesus to be our Savior so that we can meet You in Heaven some day. I pray that the person reading this post and seeking Your salvation gift will surrender their all to You Father. I thank You for allowing me to post and share here. In Jesus' name, amen.

Who rejoices with me here? Praise be to God... even the multitude of Isles is glad.

2 Clouds and darkness surround Him;
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

Um... I choose not to be His enemy. Do you?

The earth sees and trembles.

Um... wow... even the mountains melt at His presence. That being said; I'm in awe... dumbstruck if you. That's simply humble submission in reverence to The Almighty God. I melt in Your presence Father God. I challenge my readers to have this kind of fear for the LORD.

Worship Him, all you gods.

"I Surrender All"

Have you surrendered all to Jesus? If not, why? What's holding you back? What have you to lose in surrendering? You lose the self pity, shame, doubt, fear and all those negativities that satan deceives us with. I've been there! Romans 12:1 says: And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

God is waiting for you to just reach out to Him and lay it all at His feet and leave it there with Him. Let Him envelope you with His mercy & grace to fill you and overflow you to spill out around you. His love is so deep and powerful none can compare! Praise be to HIS Holy Name!
Prayer: Dear Jesus, Father God, there's hurting people out there. I lift them to You Father to meet their needs in a way only You can do Father. It is undeniably You who meets our every need. I seek healing in all ways for these hurting people Father. You know each one personally... because You created them. You knew them before they were even known. I lift their souls to You Father pleaded for their mercy. I pray that You use me in whatever way You need to Father. I'm a vessel for You. In Jesus' name, amen!

Next step: Now it's your turn. Will you seek God and surrender your all to Him? Pray to HIM and give your burdens to Him. He will gladly take them. You can't have them back. When you give them to Him, they stay with Him. Stop your self pity and get up... take your bed... go; your faith has healed you. That's what Jesus told those who sought Him for healing. Seek faith in God.

Seeking and Living for God!

Hebrews 2:10-18
¹⁰ God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.
¹¹ So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. ¹² For he said to God,
   "I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters.
      I will praise you among your assembled people."
¹³ He also said,
   "I will put my trust in him,"
      that is, "I and the children God has given me."
¹⁴ Because God's children are human beings-made of flesh and blood-the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. ¹⁵ Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.
¹⁶ We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; he came to help the descendants of Abraham. ¹⁷ Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. ¹⁸ Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.

Ok people! How much plainer could this scripture be? The devil has no hold on us. Jesus was sent to Earth just for us! Wow, just for us! Verse 18 in and of itself is so powerful it should blow our minds and put us on our faces before GOD in gratitude of what HE has done and continues to do! But, why haven't I given God the proper gratitude and reverence? I'll tell you why... because in my human weakness I allow the devil to pull the wool over my eyes and lie to me about who and what God is to me! Uh oh! Busted!!! There's no excuse now. I have to kick that liar down and stomp on his head! And so do you.. pointing to you! Yes, you!

This post can take many different directions in what the scripture says. But, I am not going to allow satan to distract my thinking and sugar coat God's message. Simply put, we need to get up off our backsides and wake up! I need to take responsiblity and be accountable to myself and God! If you believe anything less you're believing a lie.
I know your first reaction is to close this browser window and forget you read any part of this and to ignore God's calling. I am unable to ignore God now. So, instead of retreating and goinb back into the cave; stay! Let God wash over you and be blessed. Not only be blessed, but revived... in HIM. The only thing you, or I, have to lose is our old self and allow God to create a new you. As a born again believer you've already received the Holy Spirit--The comforter. Allow HIM to do His job. I am. So far, so good! It's a battle, but, you know what? It's far more rewarding than letting the devil control you. I'm proof of that. Go back ten months ago and read my blog post titled: A Miracle from God!. If you'd like to and haven't yet... take time to get caught up to speed on the blog posts up till now. You'll see God's handy work in my life. And letting HIM have His way with you will also allow His handy work in you.

Let's read Hannah's prayer:

1 Samuel 2:1-10
¹ Then Hannah prayed:
   "My heart rejoices in the Lord!
      The Lord has made me strong.
   Now I have an answer for my enemies;
      I rejoice because you rescued me.

² No one is holy like the Lord!
      There is no one besides you;
      there is no Rock like our God.
³ "Stop acting so proud and haughty!
      Don't speak with such arrogance!
   For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done;
      he will judge your actions.

⁴ The bow of the mighty is now broken,
      and those who stumbled are now strong.

⁵ Those who were well fed are now starving,
      and those who were starving are now full.
   The childless woman now has seven children,
      and the woman with many children wastes away.

⁶ The Lord gives both death and life;
      he brings some down to the grave but raises others up.

⁷ The Lord makes some poor and others rich;
      he brings some down and lifts others up.

⁸ He lifts the poor from the dust
      and the needy from the garbage dump.
   He sets them among princes,
      placing them in seats of honor.
   For all the earth is the Lord's,
      and he has set the world in order.
⁹ "He will protect his faithful ones,
      but the wicked will disappear in darkness.
   No one will succeed by strength alone.

    ¹⁰ Those who fight against the Lord will be shattered.
   He thunders against them from heaven;
      the Lord judges throughout the earth.
   He gives power to his king;
      he increases the strength of his anointed one."

Matthew Henry theological commentator puts it so concisely:
Hannah's heart rejoiced, not in Samuel, but in the Lord. She looks beyond the gift, and praises the Giver. She rejoiced in the salvation of the Lord, and in expectation of His coming, who is the whole salvation of his people. The strong are soon weakened, and the weak are soon strengthened, when God pleases. Are we poor? God made us poor, which is a good reason why we should be content, and make up our minds to our condition. Are we rich? God made us rich, which is a good reason why we should be thankful, and serve him cheerfully, and do good with the abundance he gives us. He respects not man's wisdom or fancied excellences, but chooses those whom the world accounts foolish, teaching them to feel their guilt, and to value his free and precious salvation. This prophecy looks to the kingdom of Christ, that kingdom of grace, of which Hannah speaks, after having spoken largely of the kingdom of providence. And here is the first time that we meet with the name MESSIAH, or his Anointed. The subjects of Christ's kingdom will be safe, and the enemies of it will be ruined; for the Anointed, the Lord Christ, is able to save, and to destroy.

Let's see what the Psalms say:

Psalm 121
¹ I look up to the mountains-
      does my help come from there?
² My help comes from the Lord,
      who made heaven and earth!
³ He will not let you stumble;
      the one who watches over you will not slumber.
⁴ Indeed, he who watches over Israel
      never slumbers or sleeps.
⁵ The Lord himself watches over you!
      The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
⁶ The sun will not harm you by day,
      nor the moon at night.
⁷ The Lord keeps you from all harm
      and watches over your life.
⁸ The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
      both now and forever.

He's our overseer and protector. How can anyone turn down a bodyguard? This is so awesome! No, you are not strong enough to protect yourself. No matter how hard you try. Without God as your protector satan will have you for all his meals. With God as your bodyguard you're protected against satan and his minions. That doesn't mean he won't try and get you... because he will. That's when you are under God's protective wings. Just like a mother hen and her chicks. If anyone or anything comes near her chicks she will flog them. I know what that's like. I've been flogged before. It hurts! It can bring blood. Satan can be put in his place. Just hand him over to God. Put yourself in God's protection.

Matthew 10:32-32
³² "Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. ³³ But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.

That is pretty specific and clear! Are you denying God here on Earth? If so, HE will deny you in Heaven.

1 John 3:11-18
¹¹ This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
¹² We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.
¹³ So don't be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.
¹⁴ If we love our Christian brothers and sisters, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. ¹⁵ Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don't have eternal life within them.
¹⁶ We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. ¹⁷ If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion-how can God's love be in that person?
¹⁸ Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Hmmm... seems we have a challenge here. We must get this worked out. I know, sometimes, I don't show enough love and compassion to a brother or sister. There's a lot of hurting people out there. I am going to work on this in myself. I challenge you to do so as well!

Psalm 1
¹ Oh, the joys of those who do not
      follow the advice of the wicked,
      or stand around with sinners,
      or join in with mockers.
² But they delight in the law of the Lord,
      meditating on it day and night.
³ They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
      bearing fruit each season.
   Their leaves never wither,
      and they prosper in all they do.
⁴ But not the wicked!
      They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
⁵ They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
      Sinners will have no place among the godly.
⁶ For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
      but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

This piece of scripture speaks for itself. However, one thing can be said. I want to honor and glorify God. I choose to be planted near the river and be fruitful. What about you?

Seems that God is looking more for ways to get us home than for ways to keep us out. I challenge you to find one soul who came to God seeking grace and did not find it. - Max Lucado, "When God Whispers Your Name".

Prayer: Dear Father God... I lift up those who struggle to be near You and to seek You. I pray that it would become very clear to them that You're with them and speaking to their hearts. I pray that they will seek you whole heartedly and be ready to meet You in Heaven when their time comes. But until then ready us LORD to be Your army bringing souls to You. We aren't able to save anyone let alone ourselves. I pray God that we will accept Your free gift of salvation and love each other. I pray that we stop hiding behind all these walls and let You break down the walls and make us new in You. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen!

Now, the next step is for you to seek God. Let Him work in you a good work for His glory. If you need help please seek it from your pastor or mentor. If you do not have one please message me. Leave me some way to contact you. I'll see what I can do besides just pray. God has the answers. He'll show us the way.

A measure of kindness

Hello and welcome to the blog. Today marks the start of a new word from my word list. Last month we focused on long-suffering. This month (May), you guessed it by the title, we will focus on kindness. If you would like to get up to speed on the word list you can find other posts here.

Here's something to think about:
Within each of us exists the image of God, however disfigured and corrupted by sin it may presently be. God is able to recover this image through grace as we are conformed to Christ. - Alister McGrath

Ok, now the definition of kindness:
the state or quality of being kind: kindness to animals.
a kind act; favor: his many kindnesses to me.
kind behavior: I will never forget your kindness.
friendly feeling; liking.
Basically, the first three are relatively in the same category; the act of being kind. The last, number 4, deals with the feeling of kindness as in a friendliness. I'll do my best to break these down. I may only get 2 or 3 lessons from this. We'll see.

There was a movie, "Pay It Forward", that many jumped on board with and decided to put it into action for themselves. Why? Because it is showing random acts of kindness where each person that a kind act was done to will pass the same kindness on to someone they think deserves the kindness. The concept is great. Is it a feeling of "I have to do this" and it's done begrudgingly, or is it a feeling of "I want to do this" because it's the right thing to do?

Let's see what God's word says:

2 Corinthians 6:4-10
⁴ But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, ⁵ in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; ⁶ by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, ⁷ by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, ⁸ by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; ⁹ as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; ¹⁰ as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Colossians 3:12-13
¹² Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; ¹³ bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

2 Peter 1:5-8
⁵ But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, ⁶ to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, ⁷ to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Each of these scriptures talk about the character of man as the elect of God, ministers of HIS word. We do because it's in Godly character and it honors God, not man. Verse 6 in 2 Cor. 6 above mentions sincere love. When we are sincere it shows Godliness because it's "real", not fake.

I can remember a time in my life where I was "fake" just because it helped me to just get through something I really didn't want to be a part of. I was being impatient and just wanted to be done. Basically, being selfish. Selfishness is not kind. It's the opposite of kind. It's cruel. I eventually got over it. God put me in my place and humbled me.

Where do you stand today? Do you need an attitude adjustment and need to get humbled? I know I have and still do sometimes. Seek the LORD today in sincere love for HIM to teach you kindness. It's not easy if you've been a cruel person. But, looking back at that quote above, "God is able to recover this image through grace as we are conformed to Christ."

Let Jesus Christ transform you... be conformed to HIM. You won't regret it. I do not!

Prayer: Dear Father God, I lift up my readers to You this day. I pray that Your message within this blog post will reach their hearts and comfort them in their time of distress and soften that heart to receive Your love today. I pray that Your kindness will transform each of us. I pray that I will be the embodiment of Your kindness to win hurting hearts and lost souls to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Jealous God

This is tough! It's tough to really "get" this. But, I'll try my best at it.

Let's first see what the dictionary says about jealousy:
feeling resentment against someone because of that person's rivalry, success, or advantages (often fol. by of): He was jealous of his rich brother.
characterized by or proceeding from suspicious fears or envious resentment: a jealous rage; jealous intrigues.
solicitous or vigilant in maintaining or guarding something: The American people are jealous of their freedom.
Bible. intolerant of unfaithfulness or rivalry: The Lord is a jealous god.
Looking at this from the human perspective, we know a lot about jealousy, don't we? I've heard many times over people say something like: "he's green with envy", (enviously - with jealousy; in an envious manner; "he looked at his friend's new car jealously"). We humans hate to see someone doing better or have better than each other. You've also probably heard this phrase: "keeping up with the joneses". We're all too busy trying to impress each other with all of our bling and trying to make ourselves superior to the next. That's looking at it from the materialistic view. Humans are a materialistic people. We tie our identity up with our "things". There's even a movie out called "Keeping up with the Joneses". Imagine that! Here's an interview with the main characters. Listen to what Demi Moore says toward the end.

Here's what God's word says:
Exodus 20:5b
For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God

Exodus 34:14
¹⁴ You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you.

Deuteronomy 4:24
²⁴ For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Here's some quotes to tie into God's word.
Matthew Henry says this:
"Jealously is called the rage of a man, Pr 6:34; but in God it is holy and just displeasure. Those cannot worship Godaright, who do not worship him only."

Here's some other quotes:
He that is not jealous is not in love. ~St. Augustine
Jealousy and love are sisters. ~Russian Proverb
Jealousy would be far less torturous if we understood that love is a passion entirely unrelated to our merits. ~Paul Eldridge

This is what I say about keeping up with the Joneses:

Speaking on God being jealous, taking away the human jealous element and looking at it from a supernatural point of view. Even though there is some similarities in the two types. God wants a relationship with me. If I decide to worship a different god or many gods other than GOD, He's going to be jealous, with rage. Because He created me and He wants me to be HIS. It's liken to a child telling a parent that they are divorcing their parent and marrying a new parent without cause, rhyme or reason. Parents? Does that not hurt? Of course! It would simply rip my heart out that my child decided she were getting a new parent and tossing me aside. I would be so jealous, green with envy. Who knows what I would do, angry with rage, fire!

It's the same concept with God. As mentioned in Deuteronomy 4:24, God is a consuming fire. We all know what happens with fire. That tells me that those who choose to worship, honor and praise other gods will burn in hell. Um... hell doesn't have flame retardants or fire extinguishers. It is an all consuming fire. If you've ever been burned by fire you have some idea of what that is like. I have and I never want to experience an eternal consuming fire. Torment!

Who do you choose today? God loves you and wishes to have a relationship with you. HE is an everlasting, loving God.

Jesus Tempation

Different religions have different methods of sin purification. One such is the Kumbh Mela Festival (Grand Pitcher Festival) in Norther India every twelve years. They held this festival last year. See the video below:

Can you imagine having to do this every 12 years? I could not. Christian - Jesus follower, or anyone else for that matter. There's a savior, Jesus Christ, who went to the Cross to take on ALL the sin of the World for ALL time so that you and I can be forgiven of our sins. The victory is won. There's no need to keep going back and seeking a way of forgiveness of sins. All you have to do, right where you are, only travel required is to fall on your knees right before GOD, is to repent and ask HIM for forgiveness and it will be done! See scripture below about Jesus being tempted by the devil.

If sin is the only thing you got to lose, do it. Sin isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, it will crack you up. Literally! Delve into God's word and you'll find multiple places in scripture that tell about Jesus healing mentally disturbed people and restored them to new minds. Wouldn't that be awesome? I know it has been for me. Yes, I've had my moments of being mentally disturbed. Only God knows the depths I dove to. He can help you too.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly God, Father, thank You for Your son Jesus taking on my sin and all the sin of the World making it possible to have eternal life in Heaven, with You. I pray God for all those who are lost, teetering on the fence and those who just simply need an encouraging word to lift them out of the darkness. I pray that today is the day they are lifted and encouraged and the lost are found. I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

Hello and welcome to the blog today. We're on week 3 of our lessons for longsuffering. See the previous posts here if you need to get up to speed. Last week we discussed persecution. This week, we'll discuss more about persecution.

Here's what God's word says:
Matthew 10:16-23
¹⁶ “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. ¹⁷ But beware! For you will be handed over to the courts and will be flogged with whips in the synagogues. ¹⁸ You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other unbelievers about me. ¹⁹ When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. ²⁰ For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. ²¹ “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. ²² And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved. ²³ When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel. [Emphasis mine]
This scripture puts the scripture of dressing in the full armor of God into better perspective. I dunno bout you... but... I don't want to be fighting in my skivvies (underwear). Or another expression; "I don't want to be caught with my pants down". All jokes aside!

Verses 21-22 sounds pretty scary. Everyone will be betraying each other. All nations will hate you! And just because we are followers of Jesus! I love this next part: But everyone who endures to the end will be saved. Backing up to verse 16... we're told to be shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. Eghh Uhhmmm [clearing my throat]. We better wise up, don't you think?

When you are put up on trial before the courts will you cower and deny Jesus? Or will you stand firm in your faith and take the opportunity to share Jesus? Because it says right in His word that it won't be you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. We're but vessels for God's will. Are you ready, willing and able to be God's vessel to spread the Gospel no matter the cost as long as it's for the furtherance of The Kingdom? I am... I say "bring it on"! Won't you join me on this journey?

Prayer: Dear Father God, I pray that we Jesus followers would step up and be used of You in this battle to share You with the world. Thank You Father God for using me to share You to those who pass by my way. I pray that I am suited up and ready for this battle. Thank You for Your salvation and a home in glory. In Jesus' name, amen.

Persecution & Suffering

Hello and welcome to the blog this day. Last week we started a new word: Longsuffering. This week we'll take a closer look into longsuffering. Come along for the journey.

Longsuffering covers a lot of ground. Today I'll focus on persecution and suffering. In the history of biblical days there was much persecution in the name of Jesus Christ. Is it still happening today? Of course. You've heard and seen stories about missionaries who were imprisoned and mistreated. I believe the biggest and most major type of persecution going on in America is how the public rights are being taken away. No praying in school, no Bible or sharing faith in school. No public display of the ten commandments and a whole host of stuff I am unable to begin to imagine.

How many of you are persecuted for your faith today? Sure we have free speech. I sometimes wonder how free it really is. High School athletes get kicked out of school for proclaiming Jesus. There's so much I don't think I can cover it all. I think you get the idea.

What does God's word say?
1 Corinthians 4:12
And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;

Philippians 1:29-29
²⁹ For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

1 Peter 3:13-16
¹³ And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? ¹⁴ But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled." ¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; ¹⁶ having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

Matthew 5:10-12, 43-44
¹⁰ Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
¹¹ "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. ¹² Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.⁴³ "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' ⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

2 Corinthians 4:7-10, 15
⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. ⁸ We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— ¹⁰ always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. ¹⁵ For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
Well, that's a lot of God's word there on persecution and suffering. We're to rejoice and be exceeding glad because our reward will be great in Heaven when we endure for Jesus' sake. Afterall, look at what HE went through; suffered, bled and died, rising again to save our backsides from an eternity in torment. Standing for Jesus is the least I can do in thanks for what HE did for me and you.

This is where we need and must rely on the Holy Spirit. There's no way we can go this alone in our flesh. The flesh is weak. My flesh is weak. As God's word says in Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I've trusted this verse for many many years. I will continue to trust God to provide my endurance through this race. I stand firm. Clad in my armor of God ready for battle against the adversary. Will you join me?

Prayer: Dear Jesus, Father God, Holy Spirit, I lift up myself as well as my readers to You as we face a race of endurance for Your sake. I pray that we will proclaim Your salvation and bring lost souls to You. Thank You for Your word and promises that never fail us. Watch over us and make our armor of God so strong no weapon formed against us can penetrate it. You are the Victory. Praise Your Holy Name. In Jesus' name, amen.

Longsuffering [20100405]

Hello and happy Monday. Welcome to the blog. Today marks the start of a new word from my list. Come along on the journey and see what's in store.

The month of April I will be focusing on longsuffering. What the bible says about it and how it applies to our life. Today we'll start off with the definition and history of longsuffering.

Definition of longsuffering: long and patient endurance of injury, trouble, or provocation: years of long-suffering and illness.

So, as you can see in the definition it involves more than just being patient. It's a long endurance. Hence, "longsuffering". How many of you can say you do good at longsuffering? I haven't! Only God knows how impatient I've been in this department. I'm so grateful for HIS grace and forgiveness to see me through.

Now, the Int'l Standard Bible Encyclopedia (history of long-suffering) says this:
long-suf'-er-ing ('erekh 'appayim; makrothumia):
The words 'erekh 'appayim, translated longsuffering, mean literally, "long of nose" (or "breathing"), and, as anger was indicated by rapid, violent breathing through the nostrils, "long of anger," or "slow to wrath." Click here to read more.
I find the history of words fascinating. After reading that; how many of you can that you're slow to anger? I haven't been. Sometimes, I need a swift kick in the pants to be reminded by God to slow my roll.

So, now, what does God's word say? Let's take a peek.

2 Corinthians 6:4-10
⁴ But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, ⁵ in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; ⁶ by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, ⁷ by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, ⁸ by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; ⁹ as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; ¹⁰ as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Ephesians 4:1-3
¹ I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, ² with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, ³ endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Colossians 3:12-13
¹² Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; ¹³ bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

2 Peter 3:8-9
⁸ But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. ⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Um, I think I'm in big trouble. What about you? God's word also calls for us to endure each other and to be forgiving of each other. It seems it all comes down to obedience and forgiveness just as we've seen before. God is mighty patient of us. See in v.9 of 2 Peter 3. He keeps His promises. He's not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

HE's waiting patiently. How long will HE have to wait... for you? I know HE's really been waiting for quite some time... according to human standards. But, also in that same passage above, His timing of a day is like that of a thousand years.

I don't know about you, but, I'm not going to live a thousand years. I may only live one more day though. So might you. I thank God for His forgiveness and the gift of salvation.

How longsuffering are you? Surrender your will to God and allow the Holy Spirit to flood your soul. He will be your guide and help you to be longsuffering.

Prayer: Dear Father God, I pray for each of my readers to surrender their will to You and that they would be longsuffering in Your name. I pray that I would be more-so longsuffering for You. Thank You for Your forgiveness and salvation. In Jesus' name, amen.
